서울형 키즈카페 놀이기구 및 놀이시설 분석

Analysis of Seoul-type kids cafe play equipment and play facilities

본 연구는 서울형 키즈카페의 놀이기구, 놀이시설, 기타 시설에 대한 현황을 조사하여 공공형 실내 놀 이시설에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고 개선 방안을 찾는 것에 목적을 둔다. 이를 위하여 서울형 키즈카페 중 이용 정원이 25명 이상인 7곳을 2024년 8월 14일부터 12월 6일까지 약 4개월 동안 관찰하였다. 관 찰 도구를 개발하여 예비관찰을 먼저 실시한 후에 관찰 도구를 수정 보완하여 관찰을 실시하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서울형 키즈카페의 기본 현황으로 키즈카페의 면적은 소형에서 대형인 곳까지 편차가 크고, 3∼5세의 유아는 모든 서울형 키즈카페를 이용할 수 있었으나 영아와 초등학생의 이용은 제한적이었다. 둘째, 서울형 키즈카페에 설치한 놀이기구로는 오르는 기구, 건너는 기구, 미끄 럼틀과 같이 고정된 놀이기구가 관찰한 모든 키즈카페에 설치되어 있고, 그네와 공중놀이기구는 각 1 곳의 키즈카페에서만 설치하였다. 셋째, 역할놀이, 디지털 미디어 놀이, 조작 놀이, 드로잉 놀이, 도서 등 정적인 요소가 있는 놀이시설을 4곳 이상에서 설치하였다. 넷째, 편의시설과 안전시설 관련 항목은 대부분의 키즈카페에 설치되어 있었고, 장애아를 위한 시설은 제한적이었다. 본 연구의 결과 및 논의를 서울형 키즈카페의 시설 및 환경구성을 개선하고 발전시키는 데 기초자료로 활용할 수 있다.

This study investigates the current status of play equipment, play facilities, and ancillary amenities in Seoul-type kids cafes to provide foundational data and suggest improvement measures for public indoor play environments. Observations were conducted over a fourmonth period (August 14 to December 6, 2024) at seven Seoul-type kids cafes in Seoul, each accommodating 25 or more individuals. The observation tool was developed and preliminary observation was conducted first, and then the observation tool was revised and supplemented before being observed. The main research results are as follows. First, the size of the kids cafes varied considerably, with primary users being children aged 3-5 years. Second, all Seoul-type kids cafes featured fixed play structures such as climbing frames, crossing equipment, and slides, while only a few included space-intensive equipment like swings or aerial play elements. Third, the play facilities are mostly static rather than dynamic, such as role play, digital media play, manipulative play, drawing play, and book reading. Fourth, essential convenience facilities and safety facilities are installed in almost all observed Seoul-type kids cafes. Facilities for children with disabilities are limited. These findings can be used as basic data to improve and develop the facilities and environment of Seoul-type kids cafes.
