이 연구는 눈치와 대인관계문제의 관계에서 자기존중감이 매개효과가 있는지 확인하고 자기존중감의 매개효과가 집단주의성향에 의해 조절하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 검증하기 위해 대학생 404명을 대상으로 온라인으로 설문을 실시하고 자료를 수집하였다. 자료는 SPSS 29.0과 SPSS Macro를 이용하여 분석하였다. 이 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 눈치는 대인관계문제를 직접 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 눈치는 대인관계문제의 관계에서 자기존중감의 매개효과는 유의하였다. 셋째, 눈치와 자기존중감의 관계에서 개인주의 성향은 조절효과가 없었던 반면 집단주의 성향은 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 눈치와 대인관계문제의 관계를 자기존중감이 유의하게 매개하였으며 자기존중감의 매개효과가 집단주의성향 수준에 따라 조절됨을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 눈치는 대인관계와 관련된 문제는 심리내적 문제와는 달리 자기존중감을 매개로 감소시키기도 하지만 직접 감소시키기도 한다는 것을 시사하며, 한국사회에서는 눈치가 대인관계문제를 감소 시킬 때 개인주의 성향보다는 집단주의 성향이 더 도움이 된다는 것을 시사한다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 이 연구가 상담 실제에 시사하는 바와 추후 연구에 대한 제언을 하였다.
This study aims to investigate the mediating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between nunchi and interpersonal problems, with a potential moderating role of individualism and collectivism. Data were collected from 404 university students using an online survey. The findings reveal several key insights: firstly, nunchi directly reduces interpersonal problems. Secondly, self-esteem significantly mediates the relationship between nunchi and interpersonal issues. Thirdly, while individualism shows no moderating effect, collectivism significantly moderates the relationship between nunchi and self-esteem. Additionally, the level of collectivism moderates self-esteem’s mediation of the relationship between nunchi and interpersonal problems. These results suggest that nunchi not only directly lessens problems related to interpersonal issues but also indirectly diminishes intrapsychic problems, with collectivism potentially enhancing nunchi's effectiveness in reducing interpersonal problems. The study discusses implications for psychotherapy and provides recommendations for further research.
