This study aims to examine the dual mediating roles of mindfulness and psychological burnout in the relationship between job stress and the therapeutic alliance among play therapists. A total of 235 certified play therapists participated, responding to surveys including the Job Stress Inventory, Therapeutic Alliance Inventory (WAI), Mindfulness Scale, and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and the SPSS PROCESS Macro to verify both mediating and sequential mediating effects. The bootstrapping method was used to assess the significance of these effects. The key findings include significant correlations among the major variables. The study confirmed that mindfulness and psychological burnout mediate the relationship between job stress and the therapeutic alliance of play therapists. Consequently, this study establishes the sequential mediating role of mindfulness and psychological burnout in the relationship between job stress and the therapeutic alliance among play therapists. This research contributes to understanding the factors and pathways that influence the therapeutic alliance in play therapists.
