The Effect of Emotional Intelligence and Self-efficacy of Speech Language Pathologists on Working Alliance

This study aimed to examine the effects of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy of speech-language pathologists on working alliance. The subjects of this study were 223 speech-language pathologists, and a self-report questionnaire was used. The data collected in this study were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and PROCESS Macro v.4.2 programs. The main results of this study were that emotional intelligence had a positive effect on working alliance, and that emotional intelligence had a significant effect on working alliance through self-efficacy. The results of this study suggest that it is important to develop emotional intelligence and self-efficacy in speech-language pathologists to improve their therapeutic outcomes.
