노인의 공간에 대한 의례과정 연구

A Study on the ritual process of the elderly in the space

본 연구는 부산 소재의 K 노인교실의 공간(대강의실, 소강의실)에서의 일어나는 의례과정에 주목하여 공간의 교육적 의미를 탐색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 노인교실의 공간-대강의실, 소강의실에서의 활동들을 Gennep과 Turner의 의례과정에 따라 분리, 전이, 재통합의 단계로 구분하여 연구하여 무형식 학습에 주목하여 노인 공간의 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 즉 노인교실의 대강의실이나 소강의실에서 시간의 흐름에 따라 규칙적이고 반복적인 활동 속에서 획득되는 정체성(노인학습자의 정체성)에 대한 의례과정을 분석하고 그 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 그 결과 노인학습자들이 이러한 의례과정을 통해 학습하는 정서는 공감과 몰입경험으로 나타났다. 대강의실 소강의실에서 일련의 활동들을 통해 그들은 집단활동을 통한 전염성 있는 공통된 정서를 경험하고 이 정서는 서로의 웃는 표정과 몸짓을 통해 집단 공감이라는 형태로 재현되었다. 다양한 활동들을 통해 그들은 몰입경험을 하고 그 속에서 공동체적 몰입 행복감을 느끼는 것을 확인하였다. 즉 노인교실에서 느끼는 심리적 상태가 신체에 영향을 주어 신체 상태를 회복시키기도 하고 일상생활을 더 활기차게 만드는 것이다.‘노인교실’은 삶의 활력소를 불어넣어 주는 공간으로서의 의미를 지니는 것을 확인하였다.이러한 관점에서 노인들이 특정한 공간에서 형성하고 있는 그들의 문화에 관심을 가지게 되는 계기를 마련함과 동시에 노인들의 요구를 적극적으로 반영할 수 있는 노인의 교육과 여가 공간의 필요성을 재확인하였다.

In this study, in order to examine the significance of the space called senior class and the non-formalities and the chance learning activities through the ritual process of the elderly in the space, I looked at the significance of the space of the senior class and the ritual process of elderly learners at senior class in Busan. The results of this study show that the senior class played a role of social space due to the necessity of a space that can provide the environment and the energy for the elderly that can help them overcome the feeling of social alienation and loneliness that the elderly face. The spaces such as big lecture hall, small lecture room at the senior class were observed as the ritual process of separation, transition, and integration, and the ritual process was interpreted as education capable of positive self-discovery and maintaining the community unity through engaged experiences of chance and informal learning process for the elderly. In this study, I would like to explain the educational implications as following in the ritual process of the study through learning experiences of the elderly learning in the space called ‘senior class(big lecture hall, small lecture room) from the results above. We need to create opportunities for the elderly to become interested in the their culture that’s formed at the space called senior class while aggressively reflecting the demands of the elderly, and we have confirmed the need for a social space that has the function of relaxation and learning for the elderly, and this kind of spaces should be more recommended.
