The Impact of Psychological Capital on the Career Values of Chinese College Students: The Mediating Role of Social Responsibility

본 연구는 대학생의 심리자본과 사회책임감이 직업 가치관에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이들 관계에서 사회책임감의 매개 효과를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중국 장쑤성과 저장성에 소재한 대학에 재학 중인 310명의 대학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 데이터를 바탕으로 구조방정식 모형(SEM)을 활용하여 실증 분석을 수행하였다.연구 결과, 첫째, 심리자본과 사회책임감은 모두 직업 가치관에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 심리자본은 발전 가치관에, 사회책임감은 명성 가치관에 가장 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 사회책임감은 심리자본과 직업 가치관 사이에서 부분 매개 역할을 수행하였으나, 보건 가치관 차원에서는 유의한 매개 효과가 나타나지 않았다. 이는 보건 가치관이 외부 환경 요인에 더 큰 영향을 받는다는 것을 시사한다. 셋째, 심리자본은 직접 효과와 간접 경로를 통해 대학생의 직업 가치관 형성에 이중적으로 영향을 미치는 핵심 심리 자원임이 확인되었다.이러한 결과는 대학생의 직업 가치관 함양을 위해 심리자본 개발과 사회책임감 증진을 병행하는 이중 전략적 접근이 필요함을 시사하며, 대학 진로교육 및 심리 지원의 실천적 방향을 제시한다.

This study investigates the effects of psychological capital and social responsibility on college students' work values, with a particular focus on the mediating role of social responsibility. A survey was conducted among 310 undergraduates from universities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in China. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to analyze the data.The findings reveal that both psychological capital and social responsibility significantly and positively influence work values. Specifically, psychological capital showed the strongest impact on developmental values, while social responsibility was most closely associated with prestige values. Furthermore, social responsibility partially mediated the relationship between psychological capital and work values, particularly in the domains of development and prestige. However, the mediation effect was not significant for hygiene values, suggesting these are more influenced by external socioeconomic factors.These results highlight psychological capital as a core internal resource that influences career value formation both directly and indirectly. The study suggests that universities should adopt a dual-path strategy that integrates psychological capital development and social responsibility cultivation to effectively support students in shaping positive and adaptive work values.
