초등 국악 교육 활성화를 위한 국악놀이터 앱 기능 개선 방안

A Study on Enhancing the Functions of the Gugak Playground App to Promote Gugak Education in Elementary Schools

본 연구는 초등 국악 교육 활성화를 위해 국립국악원에서 개발한 현행 국악놀이터 앱의 기능 개선 방안 모색에 목적을 둔다. 이를 위해 초등 교사 대상의 앱에 대한 인식 및 활용에 대한 1차 설문 조사를 시행하였고, 이 중 실제 앱을 사용해 본 경험자를 선별하여 앱의 기능 개선을 위한 2차 설문 조사를 추가로 실시하였다. 또한 연구의 타당성 제고를 위해 국악 교육 분야에서 활발히 활동하고 있는 교육대학교 음악교육과 교수, 초등학교 교사, 한국문화예술교육진흥원 소속 예술 강사를 대상으로 앱의 기능 개선 방안 마련을 위한 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1차 설문 조사에서 초등 교사 상당수가 앱에 대해 알지 못하는 것으로 조사되었으며, 앱의 활용에 대해서는 대체로 소극적인 견해를 보인 반면, 향후 앱 기능 개선 시 음악 수업 활용 의향에 대해서는 긍정적으로 응답하였다. 둘째, 2차 설문 조사에서는 앱의 사용자 편의성, 메뉴별 기능 활용 적정성에 대해 대체로 긍정적인 응답이 도출되었으며, 기능 개선 방향으로 게임화된 학습 요소 강화, 맞춤형 학습 경로 제공, 교육 콘텐츠 다양화 등의 순으로 응답을 선택하였다. 끝으로 심층 인터뷰에서 도출된 전문가 의견을 가락 만들기, 장단 배우기, 합주, 국악사전, 기타 의견으로 구분하여 제시하였으며, 이에 덧붙여 앱의 기능 개선 및 앱을 활용한 초등 국악 교육 활성화 측면에서 일반 초등 교사 집단의 의견 수렴, 앱의 기능 및 활용법에 대한 적극적인 홍보가 요구됨을 제언하였다.

This study aims to explore ways to improve the functions of the current Gugak Playground app, developed by the National Gugak Center, to facilitate the activation of Gugak education in elementary schools. To achieve this, an initial survey was conducted among elementary school teachers to assess their awareness of the app and its utilization. A follow-up survey was then administered to teachers who had actively used the app to gather insights on functional improvements. Additionally, in-depth interviews were conducted to find the way to improve the app functions with university-level music education professors, elementary school teachers, and art instructors of the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service to validate the study’s findings. The research findings are as follows. First, the initial survey revealed that most elementary school teachers were unfamiliar with the app and exhibited a passive attitude toward its use. However, when asked whether they would incorporate the app into their music lessons if its functions were improved, they responded positively. Second, participants in the follow-up survey provided favorable feedback regarding the app’s user-friendliness and the appropriateness of using functions by menu. When asked about functional improvements, they prioritized enhancing gamification elements for learning, offering personalized learning pathways, and diversifying educational content. Finally, expert opinions obtained from in-depth interviews were categorized into areas such as creating Garak (melody), learning Jangdan (rhythmic pattern), ensemble, and Gugak dictionary, along with additional suggestions. The study also highlights the need to collect feedback from general elementary school teachers and actively promote both the app’s functionalities and applications in respect of the app function improvement and revitalizing Gugak education with the app in the elementary schools.
