재창작 음악의 창조성과 대중성에 관한 논의

Discussion on the Creativity and Popularity of Re-created Music

본 연구는 재창작 음악의 창조성과 대중성에 관하여 고찰하였다. 재창작 음악의 개념들에 있어서 편곡, 모방, 샘플링이라는 창작 기법, 그리고 재창작 음악은 원곡 대비 비교적 유사한 결과물, 재해석한 결과물, 흉내와 익살을 통한 결과물, 재구성한 결과물로 나누어 보았다. 창조성에 관한 역사적 개념들에 있어서 새로운 것의 창조, 독창성, 개별성은 예술적 창조성으로 구분하고, 진기함과 색다름은 예술적 창조성과 기술적 창조성 모두에 해당되는 것으로 구분하였다. 또한 상업적 성공의 요인을 분석하여 재창작 음악의 대중성을 논하였다. 이러한 기준들을 통해 재창작 음악 예시들의 노래 가사, 가창법, 주선율과 리듬, 악기 구성, 장르와 스타일, 형식과 구조, 뮤직비디오의 영상을 원곡과 비교 분석하였다. 모방 커버의 예는 원곡과 비교적 유사하였고 연주 커버의 예는 부분적으로 원곡과 상이한 점을 나타냈는데, 음악 출시 당시의 시류를 따르는 음악적 성격에 따라 상업적으로 성공하며 대중성을 확보하였다. 패러디 음악의 예는 원곡을 비슷하게 묘사하더라도 노래 가사와 코믹한 묘사라는 새로운 연출적 변경을 통해 새로운 해석과 발견을 들려주었을 때 대중성을 얻는 것으로 분석되었다. 리메이크 음악의 예는 원곡과 많은 차이점을 보여주면서 서로 다른 분야의 음악을 결합했을 때, 다양한 청중들에게 새로운 음악세계를 알리는 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 보았다. 이와 같은 재창작 음악의 분석적 고찰은 대중음악의 다양한 창작 방법을 이해하고, 새롭게 출시될 재창작 음악을 이해하는데 도움이 될 것이라고 전망한다.

In this study, the creativity and popularity of recreated music were considered. Techniques for recreaed music are divided into creative techniques such as arrangement, imitation, and sampling, and the results of recreaed music are divided into similar results, reinterpreted results, reconstructed results, and results through imitation and humor compared to the original music. In historical concepts of creativity, the creation of something new, originality, and individuality were categorized as artistic creativity. And novelty and differentness were categorized as both artistic creativity and technical creativity. In addition, the factors of commercial success were analyzed to discuss the popularity of re-created music. Through these criteria, the lyrics, singing style, main melody and rhythm, instrumentation, genre and style, form and structure, and music video footage of the recreated music examples were compared and analyzed with the original music. The example of mimic cover was relatively similar to the original music. And the example of rendition cover showed some differences from the original music. This means that the re-created music followed the trend at the time of its release, and was commercially successful and gained popularity according to its musical characteristics. Examples of parody music were analyzed as gaining popularity when they presented new interpretations and new discoveries through new production changes such as song lyrics and comical depictions, even if they depicted the original song similarly. When example of remake music showed many differences from the original music and combine from different music genres, it seems that it can play a role in introducing a new world of music to various audiences. The results of the analytical examination of re-created music will be helpful in understanding the various creative methods of popular music and in understanding the new re-created music that will be released in the future.
