- 97
Purpose: To examine the impact of the Big Five personality traits, clinical practice stress, and stress-coping strategies on clinical practice satisfaction among nursing students. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted with 137 nursing students who had clinical practice experience. Data were collected via an online survey utilizing instruments that measured the Big Five personality traits, clinical practice stress, stress coping strategies, and clinical practice satisfaction. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coeffcicent, and hierarchical regression were utilized for the statistical analyses. Results: Clinical practice satisfaction was significantly influenced by clinical practice stress (β=-0.45, p<.001), active coping (β=0.23, p=.014), conscientiousness (β=0.21, p=.025), neuroticism (β=0.18, p=.015), and agreeableness (β=0.16, p=.046). The model explained 49% of the variance in clinical practice satisfaction (F=10.66, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that personality traits, stress levels, and coping strategies significantly influence clinical practice satisfaction. Furthermore, these results highlight the importance of developing and implementing stress management programs tailored to individual personality traits to enhance such satisfaction among nursing students.
