Purpose: The purpose of this descriptive cross-sectional study was to identify the effects of nurses' perceptions and satisfaction with the hospital rapid response team (RRT) on burnout related to emergency situations in Korea. Methods: The participants of the study were 277 nurses who had worked for more than six months in general wards at a tertiary hospital in Daegu City. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from September 22, 2023 to October 2, 2023. Results: Burnout related to emergency situations showed a significant negative correlation with the perception of the RRT (r = −.24, p < .001) and satisfaction with the RRT (r = −.16, p = .008). Perception and satisfaction regarding the RRT (r = .65, p < .001) had a significant positive correlation. In addition to general characteristics such as education level (β = −.24, p = .038), clinical experience (β = −.16, p = .007), work type (β = .19, p = .016), and job experience level (β = −.26, p < .001), perception of the RRT (β = −.16, p = .006) was found to affect burnout related to emergency situations. Multiple regression analysis showed that the regression model was appropriate (F = 2.07, p < .001), with an explanatory power of approximately 15%. Conclusion: To reduce burnout related to emergency situations, it is necessary to foster positive perceptions of the RRT.
