향정신성의약품 복용 여부와 우울, 삶의 만족도, 행복감 및 주관적 건강 간의 연관성 연구: 2022년 청년 삶 실태조사를 바탕으로

Associations Between Psychotropic Drug Use and Depression, Life Satisfaction, Happiness, and Subjective Health: Based on the 2022 Korean Youth Life Survey

목적 : 향정신성의약품 사용은 청년층에서 점점 더 보편화되고 있으며, 우울증, 진정제, 각성제와 같은 약물 처방률이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 청년층의 향정신성의약품 복용 현황을 조사하고, 복용 여부가 우울, 삶의 만족도, 행복감, 주관적 건강에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 2022년 청년 삶 실태조사 데이터를 활용하여 향정신성 의약품 복용 여부에 따른 정신건강 결과의 차이를 독립표본 t 검정과 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 결과 : 전체 청년 14,966명 중 812명이 향정신성의약품 복용 경험이 있는 것으로 조사되었으며, 향정신성의약품 복용 경험이 있는 청년은 비복용 청년보다 우울증상 점수가 높고, 삶의 만족도와 행복감은 낮으며, 주관적 건강 상태가 부정적인 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 향정신성의약품 복용 청년의 인구학적 특성과 건강 관련 요인을 확인한 본 연구는 청년 대상의 다층적인 정책 개발 및 임상적 중재 전략 마련의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 향후 연구에서는 다양한 약물들을 반영하여 분석함으로써 청년의 정신건강을 개선하고, 이들의 정신건강을 위한 효과적인 지원 방안을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

Objective : Psychotropic drug use, including antidepressants, sedatives, and stimulants, is rising among young adults. This study explores the prevalence of psychotropic drug use in Korean youth and its effects on depression, life satisfaction, happiness, and subjective health. Methods : Using data from the 2022 Youth Life Survey, independent t-tests and binary logistic regression analyzed the differences in mental health outcomes based on psychotropic medication use. Results : Of 14,966 participants, 812 had used psychotropic drugs. These individuals reported higher depression, lower life satisfaction and happiness, and poorer subjective health than non-users. Conclusions : Findings highlight key health disparities among youth using psychotropic medications and offer baseline data for targeted policies and interventions. Broader medication analyses are recommended for future research.
