로봇 분야 표준화 동향 및 한국의 국제표준화 전략(2024-2028 로드맵)

Current Status of Robot Standardization and Korea's International Standardization Strategy (2024–2028 Roadmap)

로봇 기술은 AI, 5G, IoT 등과의 융합을 통해 산업 전반의 혁신을 주도하고 있으며, 이에 따라 국제표준화의 중요성도 크게 부각되고 있다. 본 논문은 ISO, IEC 등 공적 표준화 기구 및 IEEE, OMG 등 사실상 표준화 기구의 동향을 분석하고, 지능형로봇표준포럼(KOROS)의 역할 및 국가표준(KS) 현황을 고찰하였다. 이를 토대로 2024년 발표된 「융복합 로봇 기술 국제표준화 전략」의 3대 추진 전략과 10대 실행 과제를 중심으로, 한국의 국제표준 선도를 위한 전략적 방향을 제시하였다. 결론적으로, 한국은 기술 우위 분야에 대한 선택과 집중, 표준 전문 인력 양성, R&D-표준 연계 강화, 중소기업 참여 확대, 글로벌 규제 대응력 확보 등을 통해 국제사회에서 신뢰받는 로봇 표준화를 추진해야 한다. 본 논문은 향후 정부 정책 수립과 민간의 표준화 참여 확대에 실질적인 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Robot technology, through convergence with AI, 5G, and IoT, is rapidly driving industrial innovation and highlighting the growing importance of international standardization. This paper analyzes key trends in robotics standardization by examining the activities of both de jure (ISO, IEC) and de facto (IEEE, OMG) standardization organizations, as well as the role of the Korea Robotics Standard Forum (KOROS) and the current status of Korean Industrial Standards (KS). Based on these insights, the study reviews Korea’s “Converging Robot Technology International Standardization Strategy (2024–2028)” and presents strategic directions for strengthening Korea’s leadership in global standardization. To lead in international robot standardization, Korea must focus on comparative advantage areas, foster globally competent standardization experts, reinforce R&D-standard linkage, and build a robust ecosystem that includes SME participation. This paper aims to support future government policymaking and expand meaningful engagement from the private sector in global robotics standardization.
