비교과 수요조사를 통한 비교과 교육의 방향성 제고: 지방소재 C대학 재학생을 대상으로

Enhancing the Direction of Extracurricular Activity through an Educational Needs Survey: A Case Study of Students at Regional C University

본 연구는 지방 소재 C대학 재학생을 대상으로 비교과 교육에 대한 수요조사를 실시하여, 학생들의 요구가 반영된 비교과 교육과정의 운영 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 설문조사에는 총 315명의 재학생이 자발적으로 참여하였으며, 조사 내용은 비교과 교육 참여 계기 및 목적, 수강 방식, 운영형태, 함양하고 싶은 핵심역량, 얻고 싶은 지식, 희망하는 비교과 교육 운영방식, 신규 개설 및 확대가 필요한 비교과, 학업 성취를 높이기 위해 필요한 능력, 진로결정과 직무역량에 도움이 되는 비교과, 선호하는 비교과 교육 희망요일과 시간대 등을 포함하였다. 분석 결과, 학생들의 비교과 교육참여의 주요 계기는 마일리지 취득과 다양한 경험이었으며, 비대면 방식의 강의형 특강과 워크숍, 참여형 활동에 대한 선호도가 높았다. 또한, 대인관계 역량과 자기관리 능력을 중요한 핵심역량으로 인식하고 있었으며, 진로 설정 및 직무 탐색에 대한 교육 수요도 높게 나타났다. 신규 개설 및 확대가 필요한 비교과 프로그램으로는 교과 연계 심화 교육과 국내·해외 봉사활동이 지목되었다. 수요 응답에 따르면 선호하는 비교과 운영 요일은 수요일과 월요일이며, 시간대는 오후 3시에서 6시로 확인되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 C대학 재학생의 실질적인 요구를 바탕으로 한 맞춤형 비교과 프로그램 개발의 필요성을 시사하며, 비교과 교육과정의 체계적인 운영과 질적 향상을 위해 학생 수요 기반의 정책 설계가 중요함을 보여준다. 본 연구는 향후 대학의 비교과 교육과정 기획 및 개선을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

This study aims to propose directions for Extracurricular Activity Program Operation that reflect students' needs by conducting a demand survey on Extracurricular Activity among students enrolled at C University, a regional institution. A total of 315 students voluntarily participated in the survey, which explored various aspects such as motivations and purposes for participating in Extracurricular Activity, preferred learning methods, operational formats, desired core competencies, knowledge acquisition goals, preferred operational methods for Extracurricular Activity, programs requiring new development or expansion, skills needed to enhance academic achievement, Extracurricular Activity programs beneficial for career decision-making and job competency, and preferred days and times for Extracurricular Activities. The analysis revealed that the primary motivations for participating in Extracurricular Activity were earning mileage points and gaining diverse experiences. Students showed a strong preference for online lecture-style special lectures, workshops, and participatory activities. They identified interpersonal skills and self-management abilities as key core competencies and expressed high Educational Needs related to career planning and job exploration. Programs requiring new opening or expansion included advanced curriculum-linked education and domestic and international volunteer activities. According to the survey responses, the preferred days for Extracurricular Activity Program Operation were Wednesday and Monday, with the most favorable time slot being between 3 PM and 6 PM. These findings underscore the necessity of developing customized Extracurricular Activity programs based on the practical needs of C University students. They also highlight the importance of designing student demand-based policies to ensure systematic operation and qualitative improvement of Extracurricular Activity programs. This study provides foundational data for planning and improving Extracurricular Activity curricula at universities in the future.
