Objective: This study aims to provide valuable information and guidance on the use of smart digital devices and artificial intelligence (AI) during Infancy by examining the current status and perceptions of such technologies among infants and their primary caregivers. Methods: We conducted interviews with 10 primary caregivers of infants aged 0–2 years who attend daycare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The interviews, which took place from February 17 to March 8, 2024, explored device usage, and the responses were reanalyzed based on their content. Results: Infants were exposed to smart digital devices and AI functions in various ways. Their experiences revealed both positive and negative aspects of device use, with frequent themes related to media exposure and control. Conclusion/Implications: Infants' use of tablets increased through repeated exposure, and AI-powered play began to appear. However, the actual use of these devices by infants was often found to be undesirable. Parent education materials frequently emphasized the need to control device exposure, highlighting the importance of providing consistent guidance.
