문화소외지역 국악 중심 학교 문화예술교육 사례 연구: 난타 연주활동을 중심으로

A case study on culture and art education at school mainly through Korean classical music in culturally underprivileged areas: focusing on Nanta performance activity

현재 우리나라의 학교 문화예술교육은 수도권을 중심으로 대도시에 집중되어 이루어지고 있다. 농어촌과 도서 지역 등 문화예술을 누릴 기회가 적은 지역 내 소외계층을 위한 문화접근성은 아직 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 농어촌 문화소외지역 초등학생을 위한 국악 중심 학교 문화예술교육 프로그램 개발하고, 이를 적용한 운영사례를 질적 사례 연구를 통해 탐색하였다. 프로그램의 주제는 난타 연주활동을 활용한 국악교육 프로그램 사례로 학습 대상은 초등 3~4학년군이며, 총 15차시의 학습 내용을 구성하였다. 개발된 프로그램의 특징은 음악적 경험이 없는 학생들도 쉽게 참여할 수 있도록 말리듬과 구음을 활용한 단계적인 학습을 적용하였고, 공동체 경험을 토대로 일상생활 속 음악적 관심과 생활화를 하는 데 중점을 두었다. 프로그램의 운영 결과로 나타난 의미로는 작은 학교에서의 예술꽃 피우기, 협동심 및 공동체 의식 형성, 음악적 능력 및 예술적 감수성 향상, 의사소통 역량 신장, 지역 문화 활성화에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다.

Culture and art education at school in Korea currently focuses on big cities including the metropolitan area. Among the disadvantaged in areas where opportunities to enjoy culture and art are insufficient such as farming and fishing communities and island areas, the accessibility to cultural activity is hindered. Accordingly, this paper aims to develop culture and art education at school mainly through Korean classical music for elementary school students in culturally underprivileged farming and fishing areas and to explore actual cases based on the qualitative case study. The theme of this program is an actual case of Korean classical music education program through nanta performance activity. The target is elementary school students in their third and fourth grades. The curriculum consists of 15 units. The developed program features the learning stages that utilize the speech rhythm and articulation that help students with no musical experience easily participate. The focus was on promoting musical interests and habitualization in daily life based on community experiences. Significances of this program operation included the blooming of art at small schools, development of teamwork and community spirit, improvement of musical ability, artistic sensibility, and communication competency, and promotion of local cultures.
