A 16-year-old female patient presented with a chief complaint of lip protrusion. She showed severe protrusion of the maxillary and mandibular incisors, deep bite, and convex profile. Therefore, maximum en masse retraction and intrusion of the anterior teeth were performed using microimplant anchorage after extraction of four first premolars to correct the lip protrusion and deep bite. To accomplish desirable tooth movement, microimplants were placed in four regions; the mandibular symphysis, the interradicular space between the maxillary central incisors and between the maxillary second premolars and first molars on both sides. After orthodontic treatment, the patient showed significantly improved facial profile, normal overbite, and good occlusion with well alignment of teeth. This report presents a successful treatment with directional force technique using microimplant anchorage.
