This case report describes an orthodontic treatment of a 52-year-old female patient with hypodivergent Class II skeletal pattern. The patient showed a large overjet and deep overbite, and lingually tilted mandibular second premolars on both sides. A maxillary right first premolar and a hopeless left second molar were extracted to reduce the large overjet and to correct the Class II molar and canine relationships. Microimplants installed in the maxillary tuberosity and mandibular buccal shelf areas were used to distalize the posterior teeth for retraction of the maxillary anterior teeth and alignment of the mandibular dentition, respectively. And microimplants installed in the interradicular areas between the mandibular canines and first premolars were used to intrude the mandibular anterior teeth followed by a flattening of the curve of Spee. Microimplants were very effective to correct the deep bite and large overjet in a hypodivergent Class II adult patient.
