전기노인의 부부친밀감에 대한 현상학적 연구: 부부친밀감이 높은 기독인 남녀를 중심으로

A Phenomenological Study on the Marital Intimacy of Young-Old Adults Christians: Focusing on Men and Women with High Levels of Marital Intimacy

본 연구의 목적은 부부친밀감이 높다고 보고한 전기노년기 기독인 남녀가 경험하는 부부친밀감과 그 의미를 심층적으로 탐색하여 현상학적으로 밝혀내는 데에 있다. 이 연구에서는 기독인이면서 친밀감이 높은 전기노인 남녀 12인을 연구참여자로 선정하여 이들이 경험하는 부부친밀감에 대한 심층면담을 진행하였으며, Van Kaam의 현상학적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 54개의 부주제, 19개의 주제, 그리고 8개의 범주, 즉 ‘동반자와 함께 돌파해가는 난관’, ‘대화로 깊어지는 연결감’, ‘세월로 빚어지는 정’, ‘마음을 따라 실현하는 행동’, ‘다른 의미로 해석되는 성’, ‘‘따로’ 또 ‘같이’의 황금률’, 그리고 ‘신앙으로 구축된 영성의 힘’, ‘심화하는 친밀감의 가치’로 확인되었다. 그리고 연구참여자들이 경험하는 의미구조로는, ‘한계의 인식과 수용’, ‘다름의 인정과 조율’, ‘연대와 독립의 균형’, ‘가장 소중한 존재로서의 배우자’, 그리고 ‘등대로서의 영성’으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 노년기를 세분화하여, 전기노년기에 있는 기독인 참여자가 경험하는 부부친밀감에 대해 깊이 있는 이해를 제공하였으며, 부부친밀감의 종류나 그 특성이 전기노년기에 들어서면서 달라질 수 있다는 것과 영성의 중요성이 드러났다는 데에 그 의의를 둔다. 본 연구결과를 통해 상호 연민, 수용, 행동적 친밀감의 필요성이 드러났으며, 긍정적 상호작용에 관한 교육, 프로그램 개발 및 상담에 필요한 임상적 함의점을 제공하였다는 데에 그 의의를 지닌다.

The purpose of this phenomenological study is to elucidate the experiences of marital intimacy among elderly Christian men and women with high levels of marital intimacy in their young-old adults. The researcher analyzed the data using Van Kaam's phenomenological research method. As a result, 54 sub-themes, 19 themes, and 8 categories were identified: “Overcoming Challenges with a Partner as Companion,” “Deepening Connection through Conversation,” “Emotional Bond Strengthened over Time,” “Actions Driven by the Heart,” “Reinterpreting Sexual Intimacy,” “The Golden Rule of ‘Separate, but Together’,” “The Power of Spirituality as a Guiding Light,” and “Value of Intensified Intimacy.” Additionally, the meaning structures experienced by the participants were revealed as “Recognition and Acceptance of Limitations,” “Acknowledgment and Attunement of Differences,” “Balance between Interdependence and Independence,”, “The Spouse as the Most Precious Person” and “Spirituality as a Lighthouse.”
