어머니의 정서사회화 경험이 유아기 자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 반응에 미치는 영향: 정서 인식 명확성의 매개효과

The Influence of Maternal Emotion Socialization Experiences on Their Responses to Young Children’s Negative Emotions: The Mediating Role of Emotional Clarity

본 연구는 어머니의 아동기 정서사회화 경험이 유아 자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 반응에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 이 과정에서 어머니의 정서인식 명확성이 매개 역할을 하는지를 조사하였다. 만 4∼6세 자녀를 둔 어머니 200명을 대상으로 자기보고식 설문을 실시하고, PROCESS macro(Model 4)를 통해 분석한 결과, 어머니의 아동기 지지적 정서사회화 경험은 자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 지지적 반응에, 비지지적 경험은 비지 지적 반응에 각각 유의한 영향이 있었다. 또한 정서인식 명확성은 두 경로 모두에서 유의한 매개 변수로 작용하였다. 이러한 결과는 부모의 아동기 정서사회화 경험이 성인기의 정서인식과 양육 반응에까지 영향을 미침을 보여주며, 정서사회화의 세대 간 전이에서 정서인식 명확성이 심리적 기제 역할을 한다는 점을 보여주었다. 본 연구는 긍정적 정서사회화의 증진을 위한 부모교육이나 상담 시, 부모 자신의 아동기 경험에 대한 탐색과 정서인식 명확성 향상이 주요한 개입 지점이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

This study examined the influence of mothers’ childhood emotional socialization experiences on their responses to their young children's negative emotions, and investigated whether maternal emotional clarity mediates this relationship. Self-report questionnaires were administered to 200 mothers with children aged 4 to 6, and data were analyzed using the PROCESS macro (Model 4). The results showed that mothers’ supportive emotional socialization experiences in childhood were significantly associated with supportive responses to their children’s negative emotions, while nonsupportive experiences were significantly associated with nonsupportive responses. Moreover, emotional clarity significantly mediated both of these pathways. These findings suggest that mothers’ childhood emotional socialization experiences affect not only their emotional clarity in adulthood but also their parenting responses, highlighting the intergenerational transmission of emotional socialization through the psychological mechanism of emotional clarity. This study underscores the importance of exploring parents’ own childhood experiences and enhancing emotional clarity as key intervention targets in parent education and counseling programs aimed at promoting positive emotional socialization.
