대학생의 학사경고 경험에 관한 내러티브 연구

A Narrative Study on the Experience of Undergraduate Students with Academic Warnings

본 연구의 목적은 학사경고를 받은 경험이 있는 대학생을 연구대상자로 선정하여 이들의 학사경고자 로서의 삶(경험)을 깊이 있게 들여다보고 학사경고를 겪어낸 경험과 그 의미를 명료화함으로써 현장의 살아있는 생생한 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 학사경고자의 삶의 경험은 학사경고라는 사건은 인생에서 기억이 남을 만큼 무게감이 있는 사건학사경고를 극복하는 그날까지 짧게는 다소 긴 시간 동안 고통스럽고 힘든 시간(최대한 부정 적인 단어를 차용하여 그들 자신을 ‘실패자’,‘낙오자’,‘패배자’라고 표현, 주홍글씨라는 낙인으로 인지함)을 보내면서 회피와 부정을 반복하고 자포자기하거나. 도피성 휴학과 군입대를 하는 모습도 보이지만 수용하며, 성찰과 반성의 시간을 통해 이전과는 비교할 수 없는 큰 성취감을 얻게 되는 것을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 마침내 장학금을 받겠다는 현실적이고 구체적인 목표가 생긴 연구참여자들은 적극적인 행동 변화를 도모하기 시작하며, 이 변화를 위한 작은 실천의 노력이 모여 나비효과를 일으 키고, 결국 학사경고를 벗어나게 됨을 확인하였다. 특히 학사경고 그 경험의 의미로는 ‘한 번 받아볼 만한 경험’, ‘어려운 역경에 대한 ‘예방주사 한 대 맞은 느낌’, ‘소수자만 겪는 특별한 경험’이자 사람이 성숙 및 성장하기 위해 겪는 ‘성장통’으로 비유되는 경험이며, 연구참여자의 삶에 대해 고찰하게 해주었고, 그 학사경고라는 ‘성장통’으로 한층 더 성숙해졌음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 학사경고를 받은 대학생의 내러티브 탐구를 통해 대학생의 이 특별한 경험을 깊이 있게 이해하는 데 도움이 되는 자료를 제공하였다는 점에 그 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to provide vivid information from the field by selecting college students who have received academic warnings as research subjects and looking deeply into their lives (experiences) as academic warningers and clarifying their experiences and the meaning of academic warnings. Through this, I aimed to help set a desirable direction for university life and provide basic materials for overcoming academic warning, which is a crisis in university life, and to help prepare meaningful prevention and measures suitable for the educational field. Therefore, this study used narratives of four college student research participants who had experienced academic warning to gain an in-depth understanding of the meaning of the experience of academic warning and to derive the inherent meaning of the life experiences of academic warning through narrative research. Academic warning The meaning of the experience is 'an experience worth receiving once', 'feeling like a vaccination against difficult adversity', 'a special experience experienced by only minorities', and 'growth pain' experienced by people to mature and grow, and it was confirmed that it has become more mature with the 'growth pain' of the academic warning. This study is meaningful in that it provided data to help college students understand this special experience in depth through the exploration of the narrative of college students who received academic warnings.
