This study aimed to examine the effects of a positive psychology-based group play therapy program on self-efficacy, social skills, and well-being in adolescents with intellectual disabilities. The experimental group consisted of six students aged between 14 and 18 with mild intellectual disabilities who were capable of independent living with intermittent support and social rehabilitation through education. They voluntarily participated in a group play therapy program as part of an after-school special talent and aptitude education program at a special education school located in D city. The group play therapy program was conducted once a week from August to December 2024, with each session lasting 80 minutes, for a total of 17 sessions. The effectiveness was verified through statistical and qualitative analyses of the collected data. The results of the study are as follows: 1. The positive psychology-based group play therapy program was effective in improving the self-efficacy of adolescents with intellectual disabilities. 2. The program also led to significant improvements in social skills among the participants. 3. Furthermore, it contributed to the enhancement of their overall well-being. Notably, these effects were maintained not only in the post-test but also in the follow-up test, confirming the sustainability of the intervention's impact.
