중학생이 인식한 학생·가정·학교 관련 변인이 공동체의식에 미치는 영향

The Impact of Student, Family, and School-related Variables Perceived by Middle School Students on Sense of Community

본 연구는 부산교육정책연구소의 부산교육종단연구(BELS: Busan Education Longitudinal Study) 자료를 활용하여 부산지역 중학생의 공동체의식 변화를 파악하고, 공동체의식 변화율과 변화에 영향을 주는 학생, 가정, 학교 관련 변인을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 부산교육종단연구 중학생 1차 자료(중1)부터 3차 자료(중3)까지 포함된 총 2,869명(남학생 1,545명, 53.9%, 여학생 1,324명, 46.1%)을 분석에 사용하였다. 분석방법은 Amos 23.0을 활용한 잠재성장모형과 SPSS 23.0을 활용한 기술통계분석, 빈도분석, 상관분석 등이다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부산 지역 중학생의 공동체의식 변화 양상은 비선형변화 모형이 적합한 것으로 나타났으며, 개인 간에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 공동체의식 초기값에 영향을 미치는 변인은 학생 관련 변인 중 자아존중감과 학업적 자기효능감이 모두 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 가정 관련 변인 중 부모-자녀 관계가 부적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학교 관련 변인 중에서는 학교만족도, 학교적응, 학교행복감이 모두 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 공동체의식 변화율에 영향을 미치는 변인은 학생 관련 변인 중 자아존중감과 학업적 자기효능감, 가정 관련 변인 중 학생 1인당 교육비와 부모-자녀 관계, 학교 관련 변인 중 학교적응과 방과후학교 만족도로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 논의점을 제시하였으며, 본 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

Using data from the Busan Education Longitudinal Study (BELS) of the Busan Education Policy Research Institute, this study identified changes in sense of community of middle school students in the Busan area and analyzed the rate of change in sense of community and student, family, and school-related variables that influence the change To this end, this study used a total of 2,869 (1,545 male students, 53.9%, 1,324 female students, 46.1%), including the 1st data (1st year of middle school) to the 3rd data (3rd year of middle school) of the Busan Educational Longitudinal Study. The analysis methods are the latent growth model using Amos 23.0 and descriptive statistical analysis, frequency analysis, and correlation analysis using SPSS 23.0. The main research results are as follows. First, the change in sense of community of middle school students in Busan area was found to be appropriate for a nonlinear change model, and there were differences among individuals. Second, among the student-related variables, self-esteem and academic self-efficacy were found to have a positive and significant effect on the initial value of sense of community, and among the family-related variables, parent-child relationship was found to have a negative and significant effect. Among the school-related variables, school satisfaction, school adaptation, and school happiness were all found to have a positive and significant effect. Third, the variables that affect the rate of change in sense of community were self-esteem and academic self-efficacy among student-related variables, education expenses per student and parent-child relationship among family-related variables, and school adaptation and satisfaction with after-school programs among school-related variables. Based on these results, discussions were held, and the limitations of this study and suggestions for follow-up research were presented.
