대학 교양교육에서의 사고 개발 가능성: 영화 ‘미키17’과 봉준호감독의 인간 이해와 창작 철학을 중심으로

Exploring the Potential for Cognitive Development in University General Education: Bong Joon-ho’s Human Understanding and Creative Philosophy as Reflected in the Film Mickey 17

본 연구는 국제적으로 인정받는 거장 봉준호감독의 영화 ‘미키17’을 중심으로 그의 인간 이해와 창작 철학을 고찰하고 이를 대학 교양교육에서의 사고 개발 가능성과 연결하여 교육적 함의를 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2025년 7월 중에 ‘봉준호감독 인터뷰’라는 키워드로 네이버와 구글에서 검색된 영화 ‘미키17’ 관련 자료와 기사 총 200여 건 이상을 포괄적으로 조사, 선별하고 질적 자료로서 내용 분석을 하였다. 연구 결과, ‘미키17’은 반복되는 죽음과 위험 노동자의 스토리텔링을 통해 사회적 소외와 같은 부정적 현실을 드러내는 동시에, 인간 존엄과 관계에 대한 회복과 희망의 메시지를 제시하였다. 또한 본 연구는 이 작품을 대학 교양교육에서 창의적·비판적·윤리적 사고를 촉진하는 학습자료로 활용할 수 있음을 제안하며, 학문 간 융복합 수업, 비판적 토론, 창의적 산출 과제 등의 실천적 적용 가능성을 모색하였다. 본 연구를 토대로 대학교양교육의 사고 개발 차원에서 영화 ‘미키17’을 활용하여 세계적 거장 봉준호 감독의 인간 이해와 창작 철학을 반영한 교수‧학습 방안을 탐색하고 그 교육적 의의를 모색할 수 있을 것이다.

This study examines the human understanding and creative philosophy of internationally acclaimed director Bong Joon-ho as reflected in his film Mickey 17, and seeks to explore their educational implications by linking them to the potential for thinking development in university general education. For this purpose, more than 200 articles and materials related to Mickey 17 were comprehensively collected and screened in July 2025 using the keyword “Bong Joon-ho interview” on Naver and Google, and qualitatively analyzed as research data. The study finds that Mickey 17, through its storytelling of repeated deaths and hazardous labor, reveals negative realities such as social alienation, while simultaneously conveying a message of hope and restoration for both human dignity and human relationships. The study proposes that the film can serve as a valuable resource for fostering creative, critical, and ethical thinking in university general education, with practical applications in interdisciplinary classes, critical discussions, and creative production projects. Based on the findings of this study, Mickey 17 can be utilized within the framework of thinking development in university general education to explore teaching and learning strategies that reflect the human understanding and creative philosophy of world-renowned director Bong Joon-ho, and to examine its educational significance.
