대학 융합교육의 내실화 방안 탐색: 해외 우수사례 대학의 지원 체제 및 제도, 교육 방법 사례를 중심으로

Exploring ways to enhance university convergence education: Focusing on the support systems, institutions, and teaching methods of overseas best-practice universities.

본 연구 목적은 국내대학의 융합교육 내실화를 위하여 해외 선진 대학들의 우수사례를 탐색하여 국내 대학 융합교육의 발전방안을 모색하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 융합의 개념과 융합교육의 의미, 융합교육의 방법에 대한 함의를 살펴보았으며, 해외대학 융합교육의 실천 사례를 분석하였다. 미국의 스텐퍼드대학과 브라운대학, 일본의 오비린대학과 쇼와여자대학, 규슈 대학 등의 사례를 살펴보았으며, AI 융합교육의 사례인 밤베르크 대학과 빌버펠트대학, 퀠른대학의 AI기반 융합대학 사례를 소개하였다. 또한 자유학예교육 모델에 근거한 영국의 버밍햄대학과 옥스퍼드대학의 사례를 통해 융합교육에 대한 전반적인 학사제도와 지원 체제에 대한 다양한 시사점을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 융합교육을 위한 교수설계로 STEAM 교육과 디자인씽킹의 교수방법을 소개하여 종합적인 융합교육의 실천적 내실화 방안을 제안하였다. 이러한 사례분석을 통해 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출할 수 있다. 첫째, 전공과 학과의 벽을 허무는 대학환경 조성에 집중해야 한다. 둘째, 학생이 자유롭게 교육과정을 선택하고 설계할 수 있는 역량을 강화하기 위하여 학사지도교수 제도의 고도화와 융합교육 목표에 적합한 졸업인정 기준을 강화해야 한다. 셋째, 융합교육에 걸맞는 수업환경이 구축되어야 한다. 넷째, 기능교육에서 소양교육으로의 사회적 인식 전환이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study is to explore excellent cases from advanced overseas universities in order to enhance the quality of convergent education in domestic universities and to seek development plans for convergent education in Korea. In this study, we examined the concept of convergence, the meaning of convergent education, and the implications of the methods of convergent education. We analyzed practical cases of convergent education from overseas universities, looking at examples from Stanford University and Brown University in the United States, as well as Otemon Gakuin University and Showa Women’s University, and Kyushu University in Japan. We also introduced cases of AI-based convergent universities such as the University of Bamberg, Bielefeld University, and Köln University. Additionally, through the cases of the University of Birmingham and the University of Oxford in the UK, based on the liberal arts education model, we were able to identify various implications regarding the overall academic system and support system for convergent education. This study introduced STEAM education and design thinking as teaching methods for instructional design for convergent education, proposing integrated and practical solutions for enhancing the quality of convergent education. Through this case analysis, four implications were derived.
