실용무용 댄서 되기에 관한 내러티브 연구

A Narrative Study of Becoming a Dancer of Practical Dance

2004년에 평생교육진흥원소속 교육기관의 계열개설로 처음 등장하게 된 ‘실용무용’이라는 단어는 이제 예술계뿐 아니라 소속되어있지 않은 일반대중들에게도 그다지 낯선 단어가 아니다. 2000년대 초반에 세계대회를 휩쓴 우리나라의 비보이들로 인하여 대중에게 ‘비보이’라는 단어를 인식시키기기 시작했고, 어느샌가 케이팝(K-POP)의 열풍의 주역인 아이돌들의 필수 수행 요소로서 실용무용의 능력이 중시되기 시작한다. 또한 2004년 이후로 평생교육진흥원 소속 교육기관뿐만 아니라 예고와 전문·일반대학교까지 전공 신입생들을 합격시키기 시작하였고, 그들을 위한 커리큘럼을 구축하여 운영 및 발전시키고 있는 실황이다. 연구자는 이처럼 한류 전파와 문화예술교육의 일각에 서서히 자리를 잡아가는 실용무용이라는 장르의 댄서가 되기를 희망했던 사람들에게 어떤 공통점이 있었을지에 대한 지적 호기심이 생기기 시작했다. 따라서 그들이 댄서가 되기를 희망한 부분에 시대적·환경적인 요인이 영향을 끼쳤을 것이라 생각하고, 리좀적 시각으로 심층면접을 수행함으로 내러티브 연구를 진행해 보려 한다. 연구자 본인 또한 실용무용의 경력이 20년이 넘어가는 댄서로서 그들이 사용하는 현장 텍스트에 대한 높은 이해도를 가질 수 있다고 보고 있으며, 연구를 통해 아이돌이나 실용무용댄서가 되기를 희망하는 학생들에게 동기부여나 양질의 교육 방법 개발에 이바지하는 것에 연구목적을 두고 있다.

The word "practical dance", which first appeared in 2004 with the opening of a significant category at an educational institution affiliated with the National Institute for Lifelong Education (referred to as NILE), is no longer a strange word not only for the art community but also for the general public who have nothing to do with it. In the early 2000s, due to the b-boys in Korea who swept the world competition, the public began to recognize the word 'b-boy', and also the ability of practical dance as an essential performance element of the i-pop stars of the K-POP fever. This began to be important. Besides, since 2004, not only educational institutions affiliated with NILE, but also art high schools, junior colleges, and comprehensive universities have started admitting new students. Furthermore, they are building, operating and developing a curriculum for them. I began to develop intellectual curiosity about what they had in common with dancers who wanted to become dancers in the genre of practical dance, gradually taking their place in the Korean Wave and cultural arts education. Therefore, I think that periodic and environmental factors may have influenced the part they hoped to be dancers, and I would like to conduct a narrative study by conducting an in-depth interview with a Rhizomic perspective. Since the researcher also has a high degree of understanding of the field texts they use because he has more than 20 years of practical dance experience, this study motivates students to wish to become an idol or a practical dance dancer, or a quality education method. The purpose of this study is to contribute to development.
