Clear Aligner Treatment Combined with Palatal Skeletal Anchorage for Molar Distalization in a Patient with Moderate Crowding

This case report describes clear aligner treatment with molar distalization using a palatal skeletal anchorage device. A 27-yearold woman presented with a chief complaint of upper and lower crowding. She exhibited a Class I molar relationship and moderate crowding of 6.1mm in the maxilla and 6.8mm in the mandible. Clear aligner treatment with simultaneous distalization using a modified C-palatal plate and palatal retraction arch in the maxillary arch and sequential distalization using Class III elastic in the mandibular arch were performed. Additional aligners were subsequently used for refinement of the anterior and posterior teeth. After 20 months of treatment, crowding was resolved and functional occlusion was obtained with a well maintained profile.
