디지털 매체를 활용한 한국어 발음 지도 방안: 초등학교 영어권 학습자의 발음 오류를 중심으로

Teaching Methods for Korean Pronunciation integrating Digital Media - Focusing on the pronunciation errors of native English learners in Primary School -

이 연구는 국내 영어권 한국어 학습자들에게서 드러나는 특징적인 발화 오류 양상을 살 펴보고 한국어 발음의 효율적 지도를 위하여 다양한 디지털 매체를 활용한 한국어 발음 지도 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 주요 내용으로는, 디지털 미디어를 중심으로 한 에듀테크 활용 교육의 의미에 관하여 최근 교육 환경의 변화와 함께 짚어보고, 영어권 한국어 학습자의 발음 오류 양상 을 분석하여 자음과 모음, 음절 구조와 음운 규칙 적용의 문제 등에 어려움이 있다는 점을 구체적으로 밝혔다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 하여 국내에서 생활하고 학습해야 하는 영어권 초등 수준의 학습자를 위한 디지털 매체 활용 방식인 클로바노트, 젭 퀴즈, 워드 클라우드 를 중심으로 한 한국어 발음 지도 방안을 실제적 예시와 함께 제안하였다. 본 연구는 연구 대상 학습자가 소수라는 연구의 제한점을 지니지만, 그간 연구가 부족 하였던 영어권 한국어 초등 학습자의 발음 오류를 구체적으로 살펴보고 이를 교육적으로 개선하기 위한 한국어 발음 지도에 관하여 발화의 정확성을 높이면서 학습 흥미를 더하는 디지털 매체 활용 수업 방안을 예시와 함께 실제적으로 제안하였다는 데에 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

This study aims to address the distinctive errors in an utterance in Korean by native English learners and to suggest teaching methods of Korean pronunciation using various digital media for teaching pronunciation effectively in Korean. The main themes of this study to clarify the meanings of education that are utilizing EduTech centered around digital media with current changes of educational environments as well as verify the outcomes through analyzing patterns of Korean pronunciation errors that there are certain types of defective utterances of native English learners such as the problems of consonants and vowels, syllable structures, and the application of phonological rules etc. In accordance with this research, the study proposed specific teaching methods of Korean pronunciation based on digital tools, like ClovaNote, ZEP Quiz, and Word Cloud for English native learners who are living in Korea and need to acquire Korean language as beginners in primary school. Even though this study is limited in terms of small-sized class, the significance of this study is specifying Korean pronunciation errors of English native learners at the primary level, which has been lacking of previous research, and proposes practical teaching methods of integrating digital media into Korean pronunciation instruction with particular examples while improving learners' pronunciation accuracy and incorporating more interests into their learning.
