Development and validation of Korean Family Counselor Development Assessment Scale (KFC-DAS)

본 연구에서는 기존의 상담사발달 및 가족상담사의 핵심역량 연구를 토대로 한국 가족상담사의 발달수준을 평가할 수 있는 척도를 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국내외 선행연구를 참고하여 가족상담사발달의 기초 영역과 문항들을 추출하였으며, 한국 가족상담 전문가 5명의 자문과정을 거쳤다. 개별 및 집단 자문 결과 초기 질문지는 6개 영역, 37문항으로 구성되었으며 상담사 222명을 대상으로 1차 조사를 실시하였다. 1차 조사의 탐색적 요인분석 결과 2차 질문지 문항은 5개 영역, 31문항으로 구성되었다. 상담사 293명을 대상으로 실시한 2차 조사의 확인적 요인분석 결과, 한국 가족상담사발달 평가척도의 연구 모형이 적합하며 타당도가 확인되었다. 연구자들은 본 척도의 연구결과로 나타난 전문적 영역과 전인적 영역에 대한 한국 가족상담사들의 인식적 특성을 논하였고, 준거타당도 검증을 위한 척도 및 조사 대상에 대한 한계점과 연구적, 임상적 의의에 대하여 논의하였다.

Objectives: This study aimed to develop an assessment scale for Korean family counselor development. Methods: Initial items were generated from previous research on counselor development and studies of core competencies specific to Korean family counseling, and refined through expert consultation with five professionals in the field. Two rounds of surveys were conducted: the first, using 37 items in six domains with participation from 222 counselors, and the second, using a refined set of 31 items in five domains with 293 counselors. Results: Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses supported the final structure, identifying five core domains: understanding and assessment of client family problems, family counseling intervention skills, counseling plan and process management, counselor identity, and professional ethics. Criterion validity was demonstrated through positive correlations with the Counselor Development Scale (Shim, 1998), and construct validity through negative correlations with the Lack of Counseling Competence Scale (Lee, 2011). Conclusions: The results clarify essential aspects of counselor development in Korea and offer a validated tool for both research and clinical settings, while discussing limitations and future application possibilities.
