촉각 고유 특성에 기반한 시각장애 촉각 자료 제작 방안 탐색: 델파이 조사를 활용하여

Exploring Tactile Material Design Guidelines for Students with Visual Impairments Based on Unique Characteristics of Haptic Perception: A Delphi Study

연구 목적: 이 연구는 촉각 고유의 특성을 반영한 촉각 자료 제작 방안을 탐색함으로써 시각장애 학생이 유의미하게 활용할 수 있는 촉각 자료를 제작하기 위한 기초 자료를 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 방법: 이를 위해, 문헌 고찰을 통해 촉각 자료 제작 방안을 분석 및 범주화하였으며, 시각장애 교육 전문가와 시각장애 당사자로 구성된 14인의 패널을 대상으로 2차에 걸친 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 조사 결과는 정량 지표와 패널의 정성적 응답을 분석하여 항목의 유지, 수정, 삭제 여부를 판단하였다. 연구 결과: 조사 결과, 촉각 고유의 특성을 반영한 촉각 자료 제작 방안은 ‘촉각의 특성 이해’, ‘촉각의 특성을 반영한 자료 제작’, ‘용이성을 고려한 자료 제작’, ‘학습자 참여를 고려한 자료 제작’이라는 네 가지 영역으로 도출되었다. 결론: 이 연구는 촉각 자료 제작 시 시각 중심적 사고를 지양하고 촉각 고유의 인지 특성을 반영하여 제작해야 함을 시사하며, 시각장애 학습자의 촉각 탐색 및 인지 방식과 교육적 목적에 부합하는 제작 방안을 제안하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Purpose: This study aimed to explore design guidelines for tactile materials that are specifically tailored to the unique characteristics of haptic perception, thereby enhancing their meaningful use by students with visual impairments. Methods: A literature review was conducted to analyze and categorize existing approaches to tactile material design. Based on this, a two-round Delphi survey was administered to a panel of 14 experts, including special education professionals and individuals with visual impairments. Quantitative indices and qualitative feedback were analyzed to determine whether each item should be retained, revised, or removed. Results: The study identified four key domains for tactile material design: understanding the characteristics of haptic perception, incorporating those characteristics into design, ensuring ease of production and use, and facilitating participant involvement. Conclusion: This study provides a meaningful shift from visually-oriented to haptically-oriented design principles for tactile materials. It is meaningful in that it proposes practical design strategies aligned with the tactile exploration and perceptual styles of learners with visual impairments.
