예비 초･중등 교원을 위한 교과 외 활동 강좌 교육내용 주제 탐색 연구

A Study on Educational Content Themes of Extracurricular Activity Courses for Pre-service Elementary and Secondary School Teachers

본 연구는 예비 초･중등 교원들이 학교 현장에서 교과 외 활동을 그 취지와 목적에 따라 지도할 수 있도록 교원 양성 기관에서 이수해야 할 기본적인 교육내용 주제를 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 문헌연구를 통해 교과 외 활동의 가치, 교원 양성 기관에서의 교육 실태, 관련 선행연구를 탐색하였다. 이어서 탐색 결과를 바탕으로 교육내용 주제의 ‘가안’을 작성하였다. 이후 경력 5년 미만의 저경력 교사 25명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 내용타당도비율(CVR)값을 산출하고 중요도-수행도 분석(IPA) 기법을 적용함으로써 ‘초안’을 구성하였다. 마지막으로 교육과정 전문가 5인을 대상으로 초점 집단 토의(FGD)와 명목 집단 기법(NGT)을 혼합한 집단 의사결정 기법을 적용하여 초안을 수정･보완하고, ‘최종안’을 개발하였다. 최종안은 두 개의 영역으로 나뉘며, 중점적으로 관심을 갖고 다루어야 할 영역에는 ‘창의적 체험활동 교육과정 설계 방법론’ 외 7개 항목이, 향후 지속적으로 관심을 기울여야 할 영역에는 ‘창의적 체험활동의 개요 및 철학적 기초’ 외 11개 항목이 포함된다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 교과 외 활동을 현장에서 내실 있게 지도할 수 있도록 실제적 역량을 추동하는 방향으로 교육내용이 개선될 필요가 있다. 둘째, 교과 외 활동의 취지와 목적을 기반으로 다양한 사회적 여건과 교육적 요구를 수렴할 수 있는 교육내용 주제가 선정되어야 한다. 셋째, 교과 외 활동의 의미를 확장하여 교육내용 주제에 일부 반영할 필요가 있다는 점이 강조되었다. 본 연구는 예비 초･중등 교원들의 교과 외 활동 학습을 체계화하기 위한 필요성과 방향을 담론화하고, 이를 실현하기 위한 구체적인 교육내용 주제안을 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다.

This study aims to identify the fundamental educational content topics that pre-service elementary and secondary teachers should complete at teacher education institutions in order to effectively guide extracurricular activities in schools in accordance with their purposes and objectives. To this end, a literature review was first conducted to explore the value of extracurricular activities, the current status of extracurricular activity education in teacher education institutions, and related previous studies. Based on these findings, a preliminary draft of the educational content topics was developed. Subsequently, a survey was administered to 25 early-career teachers with less than five years of teaching experience, and the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) was calculated. In addition, the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) technique was applied to formulate the “first draft.” Finally, a group decision-making method that combined Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and the Nominal Group Technique (NGT) was applied with five curriculum experts to revise and refine the draft, resulting in the development of the “final draft.” The final draft consists of two domains: the first domain, which should be given priority, includes eight items such as “methodologies for designing the creative experiential activity curriculum,” while the second domain, which requires continuous attention, includes eleven items such as “overview and philosophical foundations of creative experiential activities.” The results of the study suggest, first, that educational content should be improved in ways that foster practical competencies, enabling teachers to effectively lead extracurricular activities in schools. Second, topics should be selected to accommodate diverse social conditions and educational needs while grounded in the purposes and objectives of extracurricular activities. Third, the meaning of extracurricular activities should be broadened and partially reflected in the educational content topics. This study is significant in that it not only engages in the discourse on the necessity and direction of systematizing extracurricular activity learning for pre-service elementary and secondary teachers but also presents concrete educational content topics to realize this aim.
