본 연구는 초기부적응도식과 신체화의 관계를 살펴보고, 경험회피와 감정표현불능증의 순차적 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 성인 424명을 대상으로 초기부적응도식 척도(YSQ-SF), 한국어판 수용-행동질문지 척도(K-AAQ-II), 감정표현불능증 척도(TAS-20), 간이정신진단검사(SCL-90-R)로 구성된 자기보고식 설문을 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 26.0과 Hayes(2013)의 PROCESS Macro를 통해 기술통계, 상관분석, 매개효과, 순차적 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초기부적응도식과 경험회피, 감정표현불능증, 신체화 사이에 유의미한 정적 상관이 있음을 확인하였다. 둘째, 초기부적응도식과 신체화의 관계에서 경험회피가 부분매개효과를 보였다. 셋째, 초기부적응도식과 신체화의 관계에서 감정표현불능증이 부분매개효과를 보였다. 넷째, 초기부적응도식과 신체화의 관계에서 경험회피와 감정표현불능증의 순차적 이중 매개효과가 유의하였다. 이는 초기부적응도식에서 비롯된 신체화 증상 개선을 위해 경험회피와 감정표현불능증에 주목해야 함을 시사한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 한계점에 대해 논의하였다.
This study examined the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and somatization, with a focus on the sequential mediating roles of experiential avoidance and alexithymia. A total of 424 adults completed self-report questionnaires, including the Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form (YSQ-SF), the Korean version of the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II (K-AAQ-II), the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 (TAS-20), and the Symptom Checklist-90-Revised (SCL-90-R). Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and Hayes (2013) PROCESS Macro to test descriptive statistics, correlations, mediation, and sequential mediation effects. The findings were as follows. First, early maladaptive schemas showed significant positive correlations with experiential avoidance, alexithymia, and somatization. Second, experiential avoidance partially mediated the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and somatization. Third, alexithymia also partially mediated the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and somatization. Fourth, a significant sequential mediation was observed, whereby experiential avoidance and alexithymia jointly explained the pathway from early maladaptive schemas to somatization. The study’s significance, limitations, and directions for future research are discussed.
