유⋅초연계 관련 뉴스 기사의 담론 분석: 2008년-2025년을 중심으로

Discourse on the continuity between early childhood and elementary education in news articles: 2008–2025

본 연구는 텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 뉴스 기사 분석을 통해 유⋅초연계 교육을 둘러싼 각 정권별사회 전반의 담론 변화를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2008년부터 2025년까지 유⋅초연계 관련 뉴스기사 601편을 대상으로 키워드 출현 빈도, 중심성 분석, 군집 분석을 실시하였다. 연구문제에 따른 주요연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2008년부터 2025년까지 유⋅초연계 담론에서 ‘학습’, ‘사교육’, ‘수학’, ‘영어’ 등의 키워드가 지속적으로 높은 비중을 차지하였다. 또한, 군집 분석에서는 ‘초등입학에 대한 유아와학부모의 심리적 부담’, ‘초등입학 준비를 위한 학습과 놀이’, ‘초등입학에 따른 가정 및 사회적 부담’, ‘발달의연속성과 교육과정의 연계’ 주제가 나타났다. 둘째, 정권별 담론의 특징을 살펴본 결과 이명박 정부 시기에는‘수학’, ‘사고력’ 등의 키워드가 강조되었으며, 박근혜 정부 시기에는 ‘사교육’, ‘학부모’, ‘고민’, ‘교육비’, ‘걱정’ 등 교육비용과 학부모의 우려가 중심이 되었다. 문재인 정부 시기에는 ‘코로나’, ‘첫등교’, ‘불안감’ 등의 키워드가 주를 이루었으며, 윤석열 정부 시기에는 ‘조기입학’, ‘학제개편’, ‘입학연령’, ‘논란’ 등의제도 논의와 관련된 키워드가 부각되었다. 이러한 결과는 유⋅초연계 정책이 지속적으로 추진되어 왔음에도불구하고 사회적 담론에서는 초등입학을 위한 학습 준비에 초점이 맞추어져 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구는유⋅초연계 정책의 수용성과 현장 적용 가능성을 진단하기 위한 기초자료를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study examined how the continuity between early childhood and elementary education has been represented in social discourse by applying text mining to 601 news articles published between 2008 and 2025. The results are as follows. First, keywords such as ‘learning’, ‘private education’, ‘math’, and ‘English’ consistently appeared throughout the period. Second, cluster analysis revealed four core themes: psychological burdens on children and parents, academic and play-based preparation, family and societal concerns, and the developmental and curricular continuity across educational stages. Third, discourse patterns shifted over time, from a focus on academic readiness in the early years, to growing concerns over private education and parental anxiety, to pandemic-related issues such as ‘first school day’ and ‘anxiety’. In recent years, policy-related terms such as ‘early school entry’, ‘entry age’, and ‘school system reform’ have become more prominent. The findings underscore the continued emphasis on academic preparation in public discourse, revealing tensions between policy goals and social expectations.
