분거부부로 살아가는 일본인 결혼이주여성의 소수자 경험에 대한 단일사례연구

Single Case Study on the Minority Experiences of Married Japanese Migrant Women Living as Separate Couples

본 연구는 한국에서 살아가는 일본인 결혼이주여성으로서의 경험과, 분거 부부로 살아가는 기혼 여성으로서의 경험을 교차하는 특수한 사례를 통해 다문화에 대한 이해를 확장하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 의도적 목적표집에 의해 모집된 참여자와의 심층면접을 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 질적 사례 연구 분석방법 중 개방코딩과 축코딩 기법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 다음과 같은 5개의 주요 범주와 16개의 하위 범주, 176개의 의미 단위가 도출되었다: 1) 언어와 의사소통의 장벽, 2) 한국 문화 속에서의 부모됨과 사회적 적응, 3) 이주결혼의 어려움과 극복의 여정, 4) 문화와 관계가 만나는 지점에서 특수해지는 가족 경험, 5) 이주결혼의 이상과 현실 그리고 그 의미. 이 분석 결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구는 다문화 사회에서의 이주 결혼 여성들의 경험에 대한 심층적인 이해를 제공하며, 다문화 정책 및 사회적 지원체계에 대한 새로운 방향을 제시하는 데 기여할 수 있음을 밝혔다. 또한, 연구의 한계와 향후 연구를 위한 제언도 함께 논의되었다. 본 연구는 다문화 가정의 특수성을 고려한 정책 개발과 사회적 이해 증진의 필요성을 강조하며, 이주 결혼 여성들이 겪는 복합적인 경험에 대한 새로운 시각을 제공하고자 하였다.

This single‐case study explores the intersecting experiences of a married Japanese migrant woman living in Korea and a married woman in a living‑apart‑together arrangement to deepen understanding of multicultural dynamics. A purposive sample underwent in‑depth interviews, and transcripts were analyzed via open and axial coding. Five primary categories (with 16 subcategories and 176 meaning units) emerged: (1) language and communication barriers, (2) parenthood and social adaptation in Korean culture, (3) challenges of transnational marriage and resilient journeys, (4) family experiences at the culture–relationship nexus, and (5) ideals versus realities of transnational marriage. Findings offer rich insight into marriage migrants’ lived realities and suggest directions for future multicultural policy and support systems. Study limitations and future research avenues are discussed. Emphasizing the complex, layered experiences of married migrant women, this work calls for nuanced policies and enhanced social understanding.
