중도입국 청소년의 한국에서의 또래관계 형성 어려움에 대한 현상학적 연구

A Phenomenological Study on the Difficulties in Forming Peer Relationships among Mid-Entry Adolescent Immigrants in South Korea

본 연구에서는 중도입국 청소년의 한국에서의 또래관계 형성 어려움에 대해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 달성하기 위해 중도입국 청소년 7명을 대상으로 심층적인 면담을 진행하였고, Giorgi의 현상학적 방법에 따라 분석하였다. 자료 분석 결과 하위주제 11개, 상위주제 4개로 도출되었고 상위주제는 구체적으로 ‘초기 또래관계 형성 과정의 어려움과 상호작용을 통한 관계 인식의 변화’, ‘문화적 차이로 인한 또래관계 어려움과 인식·수용의 과정’, ‘또래 내 차별과 인식 차이의 아픔과 관계 맺는 방식의 전환’, ‘고군분투에도 불구하고 겪은 또래관계 어려움과 관계 의미 확장의 과정’으로 범주화하였다. 이러한 결과를 상황적 구조와 일반적 구조 진술로 나누어 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 중도입국 청소년의 고유한 관계 형성 과정과 그 내면 경험의 이해에 기초자료를 제공함으로써 향후 중도입국 청소년의 상담 및 개입에서 또래관계 속 문화적 민감성과 심리적 안정 지원에 실질적 도움을 줄 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study explores the difficulties that immigrant youth experience in forming peer relationships in Korea. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with seven youths and the data were analyzed using Giorgi’s phenomenological method. As a result of the analysis, 11 sub-themes and 4 main themes were derived. ‘difficulties in forming early peer relationships and changes in relationship perception through interaction’, ‘difficulties experienced in cultural differences and the process of recognition and acceptance’, ‘difficulties due to discrimination and differences in perception between peer groups and changes in relationship formation’, and ‘expanding the meaning of relationships even amid difficulties in peer groups’. These research results are presented as situational and general structural descriptions. This study provides basic data for understanding the unique relationship processes and internal experiences of immigrant youth, and is significant in providing practical support for cultural sensitivity and psychological stability in the counseling and intervention process.
