부모자살 후 남겨진 아동과 조모지원을 위한 해결중심접근: 사례관리 및 상담에 통합적으로 활용한 탐색적 사례연구

Solution-Focused Approach for Survivors of Family Suicide: An Exploratory Case Study Integrating Case Management and Counseling

본 사례연구는 해결중심접근이 부모자살 후 남겨진 아동과 조모가 가진 심각하고 다양한 욕구들에 어떻게 적용되었는지 고찰하였다. 전통적인 해결중심상담 사례연구가 특정 문제를 가진 이용자(내담자)에게 사례관리자(상담자)의 구체적인 해결중심상담 기법이 어떻게 적용되었고 어떤 효과를 발휘했는지 사례관리자-이용자(개인 또는 가족) 관계에 초점을 둔 것과는 대조적으로 본 연구에서는 고찰의 범위를 확대하였다. 즉, 사례관리자의 상담기법 분석 외에 사례관리자의 해결중심상담법 학습, 기관의 교육․훈련 지원, 해결중심접근의 상담과 사례관리에 통합적으로 적용, 해결중심전문가에 의한 정기적인 슈퍼비전 내용도 함께 논의하였다. 연구과정에서 제한된 관련 연구 및 자료부재, 장기간의 사례관리 개입에 대한 평가적 논의의 어려움 등의 한계를 지니고 있음이 파악되었다. 그럼에도 불구하고 관심을 가지고 살펴본 영역에서 사례관리자는 개인적인 관심, 기관 및 슈퍼바이저의 적극적인 지원 시스템의 도움으로 비교적 짧은 기간에 해결중심상담 역량을 상당히 제고하면서 효과적인 서비스를 제공할 수 있었던 것으로 평가되었다, 해결중심상담 실천가의 교육, 훈련, 슈퍼비전에 대한 지원과 그 방법에 관한 연구의 욕구가 급증하는 사회서비스 현장 상황을 고려할 때, 본 연구는 시의성이 크고 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

This qualitative case study discussed how the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy(SFBT) was used for a son and grandmother bereaved by family suicide to deal with serious and complex problems. Contrary to the many other SFBT case studies which focused on the counselor’s skills applied to clients to develop solutions, this exploratory study expanded the study scope into larger systems around counselor. This study included discussion on case manager(counselor)’s training on SFBT, the agency-wide support on training, integration of case management and counseling, supervision by a SFBT supervisor. This is an exploratory study because this approach is quite new in this field. The study had challenges of limited reference and difficulty in integrating case management and counseling. Regardless of these, this study showed positive results. A social worker showed a significant improvement in practicing SFBT skills, bringing positive intervention results in 2 years. Also, this study found that the agency-wide support in training and supervision system with a professional supervisor were contributing factors for positive results.
