발달장애 자녀를 둔 노인부모의 돌봄 부담에 관한 영향 요인 분석 : 부모의 성별 비교를 중심으로

Factors Affecting the Caregiving Burden Among Older Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities : A Comparative Analysis by Parental Gender

본 연구의 목적은 발달장애 자녀를 둔 노인부모의 돌봄 부담에 영향을 미치는 요인을 도출하고 부모의 성별 간 돌봄 부담의 차이를 파악하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2023년 발달장애인 일과 삶 실태조사를 활용하였고, 응답자 및 주 보호자가 부모인자를 대상으로 하였다. 이 중 연구의 목적에 맞게 65세 이상의 응답자를 선정하여 총 530부를 분석에 사용하였다. 연구의 분석방법으로 기술통계, 독립표본 t-검정, ANOVA와 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 발달장애 자녀의 근로 유무는 아버지와 어머니 모두 동일하게 돌봄 부담에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 어머니는 아버지와 달리 발달장애 자녀의 도구적 일상생활수행능력(IADL), 만성질환 유무, 도전적 행동 그리고 주 보호자 주관적 건강상태가 영향을 미쳤다. 반면, 아버지는 월평균 가구소득이 돌봄 부담에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 발달장애 자녀를 둔 노인부모의 돌봄 부담을 완화하고 부모 간 돌봄 부담의 차이에 대응하기 위한 실천적, 정책적 개입 방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting caregiving burden among older parents of children with developmental disabilities and to examine gender differences between fathers and mothers. This research utilized data from the 2023 Survey on the Work and Life of Persons with Developmental Disabilities. A total of 530 responses from parents aged 65 and older were selected. Descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, ANOVA, and multiple regression analyses were conducted. The findings revealed that the employment status of the child significantly affected caregiving burden for both fathers and mothers. However, for mothers, factors such as the child’s IADL, presence of chronic illnesses, challenging behaviors, and the mother's subjective health status were found to be significant. In contrast, for fathers, average monthly income was identified as a key influencing factor. Based on these findings, the study proposes practical and policy-level interventions to alleviate the caregiving burden among older parents of children with developmental disabilities and to address gender disparities in caregiving responsibilities.
