장애인거주시설 사회복지사의 이용자 죽음에 대한 경험 : 죽음을 통해 보는 존엄한 삶을 향한 지원과 성찰

Experience with the Death of Users of Social Workers in Residential Facilities for Persons with Disabilities -Support and reflection on a dignified life through death-

본 연구는 장애인거주시설 사회복지사의 이용자 죽음에 대한 경험과 지원을 탐색한 것으로 질적 사례연구방법을 활용하였다. 이를 위해 장애인거주시설 5개소의 사회복지사 6명을 대상으로 개별심층면접을 하고, 죽음 관련 기록이나 사진들도 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 4개의 주제와 11개의 하위범주가 나타났다. 이용자 죽음과 관련하여, 사회복지사는 삶과 죽음의 경계, 죽음의 직면과 애도, 현재를 반추하게하는 죽음, 죽음에 대한 권리와 정겨운 실천을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 이용자의 존엄한 죽음의 권리 및 사회복지사의 자기돌봄 제도화 필요성 등에 대한 사회복지적 함의를 제안하였다.

This study explored the experience and support of the death of users of social workers in residential facilities for the disabled, using qualitative case studies. To this end, individual in-depth interviews were conducted with six social workers at five residential facilities for the disabled, and records and photos related to death were also examined. As a result of the study, 4 subjects and 11 subcategories appeared. Regarding user death, it was found that social workers experience the boundary between life and death, the face and mourning of death, death reflecting on the present, and the right to death and good practice. Through this, social welfare implications for the user's dignified right to death and the necessity of institutionalizing self-care of social workers were proposed.
