This study aimed to investigate the relationship between physical activity levels and sleep satisfaction among Korean adolescents using data from the 2024 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey. We analyzed raw data from the 2024 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey to examine the association between various types of physical activity and sleep satisfaction among Korean adolescents. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between physical activity and sleep satisfaction while controlling for sociodemographic factors including gender, school level, grade, academic achievement, and household economic status. Korean adolescents demonstrated generally low levels of sleep satisfaction. Sociodemographic analysis revealed that sleep satisfaction was significantly lower among female students compared to male students, decreased with higher school level and grade, and was inversely associated with academic achievement and household economic status. Regardless of the type of physical activity, higher frequency of physical activity was associated with greater sleep satisfaction. After controlling for sociodemographic factors, logistic regression analysis confirmed that high-intensity physical activity and resistance exercise were independently associated with improved sleep satisfaction among adolescents. This study provides evidence that high-intensity physical activity and resistance exercise are independently associated with better sleep satisfaction among Korean adolescents. These findings offer valuable evidence for developing physical activity policies and programs aimed at promoting sleep health in adolescents. The results emphasize the importance of incorporating high-intensity physical activity and resistance training into school physical education curricula and youth health promotion programs.
