A Study on the way of expanding of moving image platform - Proposal of Screen X's directing aesthetics -

This paper studies firstly the theory of space of by Kant. It suggests systematic theory on objective space as well as tries to approach to phenomenological space. Secondly this paper examines the problem of space experience by stressing on Hermann Schimitz's theory of space experience - expansion, direction and location-space. Next, this paper discusses the reason why the film is highly regarded as a proper media that expends and strengthens our space experience. It also unpacks the way in which true properties of film are concerned with spatial experience of spectators. In this context, the split screen in film aides the development of film language in the aspect of narrative, on the other hand it manages the psychology of spectator. The composite image by split screen or otherwise elaborated digital editing will be helpful for enhancing narrative immersion. This paper will deal with the challenges of split screen.
