Ogigami Naoko takes center stage internationally as she directed <Yoshino’s Barber Shop>(2004), <Kamome Dinner>(2006), <Glasses>(2007), <Toilet>(2010), <Rent-a-Cat>(2012) and so on. Her movies are known as ‘Feminism Film’, ‘Slow Life Movie’, and ‘Healing Movie’. The reason is because she directed with the narratives that give audience the consolation, rest and healing about ode to slow life in fast modern society with women as main characters in many of her movies. The study shows that it seems to be limiting the variety of contemporary meaning and values of her films if the diverse periodic, social and cultural implications and expressions of her films are only analyzed by these categories that are known to audience. Ogigami Naoko reflects contemporary people’s desires in modern society with her film’s <Kamome Dinner> and <Glasses>. Especially, she expresses with her films’ characters, narratives, filmic techniques and expressions about the people’s desires that are the inherent part about the true purpose of human existence and the meaning of happy life as contemporary people. In this sense, <Kamome Dinner> and <Glasses> will be highlighted along with the study about modern people’s desires and valuable to study social aspect and contemporary characteristic as a noticeable contemporary movie.
