From mid 1990s, television started to add video game to its content list. Video game content quickly evolved into live broadcast from simple new video game introduction after dedicated cable television networks came online. Lot of effort was put into adapting popular game contents to current broadcast system. However, most games, with the exception of "Starcraft", have failed to adapt to TV broadcast. And what was once met with great enthusiasm is loosing its luster as TV broadcast companies are seeking for the next popular game content. To overcome current trend, broadcast system needs to fit or change according to the video games. This includes changes in management and progression to fit to video games. As TV broadcast fits to maximizes the game’s individual characteristics, a new and fresh TV ready media will be born. An in-depth observation was done for “AfreecaTV”: to understand the potentially new media and to provide current problems and the future of game broadcasting.
