It is said that the history of movie was the process of endeavor to ensure the peculiarity of movie itself. It was true that as a film was dealt with as the fruit of science, the film was subordinate to the play, literature and other arts. In addition, the movie was vulnerable to the trend of various arts. However, director D.W. Griffth found out the intrinsic mode of expression in movie throughout his own movie <Intolerance>. Movie tested repeatedly from ‘Telling’ to ‘Showing’, movie finally showed off itself on the basis of the fact that it was able to embody collective unconscious as well as the inner world of people. There were a large number of movie directors to describe supernatural phenomenon, mysticism, magic and Alchemy in the name of ‘auteurisme’ and ‘The Underground’. In particular, director Alejandro Jodorowsky from Chile exerted his influence to the audiences orphically with a grotesque and mysterious image to define a boundary between reality and fantasy. He set out a logical argument that there should be a probability in fiction rather than a vaguely processed art from fantasy. What are the consequences after the fusion of the mystical literature and the movie with magic realism? How the matter of de-cultural and de-artistic mixture on going and the regional identity in Latin America were restructured? I will give an answer to such questions with the movie made by director Jodorowsky.
