애니메이션의 변신 모티프에 관한 연구- <벼랑 위의 포뇨>를 중심으로 -

A Study on Transformation Motif in Animation- Focusing on <Ponyo on the cliff> -

Animations, which are able to express freely, have wide forms of expression, and abilities to even exaggerate to realize fiction as reality by maximizing imagination. Like this, there are lots of animations which have mingled fiction and reality or have main structural transformation motif. This thesis is about analyses the importance of transformation motif and its roles. So, there are review on precedents and theory of styles in transformation, and how to structuralize transformation motif in <Ponyo on the cliff>. This thesis has studied on <Ponyo on the cliff>, which are appreciated cinematical quality and money making works in Ghibli animation. It shows that transformation motif has to reinforce two factors both cinematical quality and money making works. The significance of this thesis is a proposal of theoric background which can helps vitalizing use of transformation motif get a higher box office record, audiences absorb deeper and transformation motif animation analysed systematically. I hope that there will be more transformation motif animations to be appeared on the basis of this thesis.
