This study explores the development of a goal-oriented, step-by-step teaching approach for screenplay education, aiming to enhance students' self-assessment skills while addressing practical challenges in creative work. The proposed model draws on Constructivist Learning Environments, Problem-Based Learning, and scenario structure theory to create structured checklists and feedback mechanisms, guiding students through four phases: initial planning, logline development, structural design, and character creation. The approach was tested in a film and video production workshop at Gyeonggi Arts High School, where we observed students throughout their creative process. Results were encouraging - all participating students successfully submitted work to film festivals, with several entries progressing to final rounds or receiving recognition at youth competitions. Our analysis suggests improvements in narrative structure coherence, character development depth, and thematic clarity. While limited by its small scale and case study nature, the findings indicate that goal-oriented pedagogical approaches may help bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical creative application in arts education. Further research with larger student groups and more comprehensive assessment tools would help validate these preliminary observations.
