A Study on Genre Suitability of AI-Generated Films- Focusing on "The Mannequin" and "The Frost"

This study explores the genre suitability of AI-generated films by analyzing the applications of AI technology in fantasy, sci-fi, and horror genres. As AI rapidly transforms the film production process, this research examines its impact and limitations, focusing on genre-specific storytelling and visuals. Adopting a qualitative approach, the study combines literature review and case analysis of two AI-generated films: The Mannequin (fantasy-horror) and The Frost (sci-fi thriller). The findings reveal that AI excels in enhancing surreal visuals and non-linear narratives. For example, AI-generated imagery in The Mannequin amplifies horror aesthetics, while The Frost creates immersive futuristic environments. Additionally, AI showcases its potential to redefine creative boundaries by blending human imagination with machine-generated outputs. However, the study emphasizes the need to address ethical and legal challenges, particularly copyright concerns. It also highlights that AI should complement and expand human creativity rather than replace human creators. The significance of this study lies in expanding discourse on AI's role in film production and genre innovation. Future research should explore diverse AI tools and audience reception to understand the evolving relationship between AI and cinema.
