단편 애니메이션 <피스트(Feast)>에서 감정표현 전달을 위한 빛과 그림자 활용 연구

A study of use of light and shadow for emotional expression in the short animation <Feast>

This study checked the relationship between emotional expression and lighting shown in the short animation <Feast> to conform whether the lighting and shadow in the animation affects emotion on the screen. The emotions shown in all scenes were divided and recorded into the emotions conveyed to the audience, the emotions of the main subject, and the emotions of the sub-subject. In the case of lighting, it divide into the full screen lighting, the lighting on the main subject, and the lighting on the sub-subject. After that, assuming that darkness was used for expressing negative emotions and lightness was used for positive emotions, was checked by matching between emotions and lighting in all scenes. As a result, it was confirmed that most of the emotions throughout the video coincide with the lighting on each subject. Furthermore, since coincidence between the lighting of the entire screen and the emotion to be conveyed to the audience is very high, it was confirmed that the lighting of the full screen is most directly used for the emotion to be delivered to the audience. As a result, it was found that in the short animation <Feast>, most of the lighting plays a role in conveying emotions more effectively throughout the video.
