대학생의 중도탈락의도에 영향을 미치는 요인 검증

Verification of Factors Influencing College Students' Intention to Drop Out

이 연구는 개인 배경, 교육과정, 교육환경, 대학 경험, 사회·심리적 특성 등 다양한 예측변인이 대학생의 중도탈락의도에 미치는 영향을 통합적·다층적 관점에서 분석하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 2022년 기준 서울 소재 A 사립대학에 재학 중인 학부생 중 주요 대입전형을 통해 입학한 1,929명이다. 수집된 자료는 기술통계, 빈도분석, 상관관계 분석, 위계적 이항로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 대학생의 중도탈락의도는 입학 직후인 1학년 시기와 정시 수능 전형으로 입학한 학생에게서 두드러지게 나타났다. 또한, 일반고 출신보다 기타고(해외고, 홈스쿨링, 비인가대안학교, 검정고시) 및 특목고 출신 학생의 중도탈락 의도가 유의하게 높았으며, 전공교육 만족, 대학몰입, 사회적 연결성이 높을수록 중도탈락의도는 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 연구결과에 근거하여 중도탈락의도를 완화하기 위한 정책적 제언을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of various predictors, such as personal background, curriculum, educational environment, university experience, and socio-psychological characteristics, on college students' intention to drop out from an integrated and multi-level perspective. The study subjects were 1,929 undergraduate students enrolled at a private university in Seoul as of 2022 who were admitted through the major admission processes (comprehensive student records, academic records, essay, and CSAT). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, and hierarchical binomial logistic regression. The main findings are as follows. The intention to drop out was significantly higher in the first year of college (immediately after admission) and among students admitted through the regular CSAT admission process. Furthermore, students from Graduates of High School Qualification Examination and Special Purpose High Schools showed significantly higher intentions to drop out than those from general high schools. Meanwhile, Higher satisfaction with major education, university commitment, and social connectedness were associated with lower intentions to drop out. Based on the research results, policy recommendations were presented to alleviate the intention to drop out.
