청소년이 지각한 긍정적 부모양육태도와 친구 관계가 다문화 수용에 미치는 영향

The impact of adolescents’ perceived positive parenting and friendships on multicultural acceptance

본 연구는 청소년이 지각하는 긍정적 부모양육태도와 친구 관계가 그들의 다문화 수용성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 탐색하고 나아가 이들 변인 간의 관계를 규명하여 다문화 수용성을 높이기 위한 실천적 방안을 제시하고자 실시하였다. 이러한 연구 수행을 위해 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사 KCYPS(2018) 6차년도 데이터의 고등학생 2,224명을 대상으로 최종 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 청소년이 지각한 긍정적 부모양육태도가 친구 관계와 다문화 수용도에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 긍정적 부모양육태도가 다문화 수용도에 영향을 미치는 관계에서 친구 관계는 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 청소년의 다문화 수용도를 증진하기 위해서는 부모와 자녀간의 공감적 대화를 통한 문화적 감수성을 함양해야 하며, 청소년들에게 개방적인 또래 관계 형성을 위한 지지가 필요하다. 또한, 학교 교육현장에서 문화적 다양성을 존중하는 환경 조성과 미디어 리터러시 교육을 통한 비판적 사고 능력을 함양해야 한다. 마지막으로, 부모, 교사의 역할 모델 제시를 통해 청소년들이 다문화에 대한 긍정적 태도 를 함양할 수 있도록 해야 한다.

This study was conducted to explore how adolescents' perceptions of positive parenting attitudes and peer relationships influence their multicultural acceptance, to clarify the relationships among these variables, and to propose practical measures for enhancing multicultural acceptance. For this research, the final analysis was conducted using data from the 6th wave of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS, 2018), involving 2,224 high school students. The results of the study showed that adolescents' perceived positive parenting style had a static effect on friendships and multicultural acceptance, and that friendships had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between positive parenting style and multicultural acceptance. Based on these findings, to promote multicultural acceptance among adolescents, cultural sensitivity should be fostered through empathetic dialogues between parents and children, and adolescents should be supported to develop open peer relationships. In addition, schools should foster an environment that respects cultural diversity and foster critical thinking skills through media literacy education. Finally, role modeling by parents and teachers can help young people develop positive attitudes toward multiculturalism.
