베트남 유학생의 학교생활적응을 위한 공감학습 요구분석

Needs Analysis for Empathy Learning to Help Vietnamese International Students Adapt to School Life

본 연구는 베트남 유학생들이 한국의 학교생활에 적응하며 겪는 어려움을 분석하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 공감학습의 필요성을 탐색하고자 수행되었다. 2025년 2월부터 7월까지 J도 N시에 소재한 N대학교의 베트남 유학생들을 대상으로 심층면담을 진행한 결과, 베트남 유학생들은 학업적 어려움과 경제적 문제, 심리적 고립감으로 인한 복합적인 스트레스를 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위해 첫째, 유학생들은 담당 교수자와의 긴밀한 소통과 관계를 통해 학업적 생활 전반의 어려움을 해결하고 심리적 안정감을 얻을 수 있다. 둘째, 공감학습을 통해 자신과 타인의 정서를 이해하고 수용하는 능력은 유학생들이 타인과의 비교 의식에서 벗어나 자기주도적으로 학습 목표를 설정하고 성취감을 경험하는 데 필수적이다. 셋째, 역할극, 문화 체험 등 공감학습 기반의 다양한 활동들은 유학생들이 한국의 학업 및 생활 문화를 자연스럽게 이해하고, 여러 유학생들과 상호 교류하며 소속감을 형성하는 데 기여한다. 본 연구는 향후 유학생 지원 프로그램과 교육 정책 수립에 있어 공감학습의 중요한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

This study was conducted to analyze the difficulties Vietnamese international students face in adjusting to school life in Korea and to explore the need for empathic learning to address these challenges. From February to July 2025, in-depth interviews were conducted with Vietnamese international students attending University N in N City, J Province. The results revealed that Vietnamese international students experience complex stress due to academic difficulties, financial hardship, and psychological isolation. To address these issues, first, international students can overcome challenges facing their academic lives and achieve psychological stability through close communication and relationships with their instructors. Second, the ability to understand and accept the emotions of others and oneself through empathic learning is essential for international students to break free from comparisons with others, set self-directed learning goals, and experience a sense of accomplishment. Third, various activities based on empathy learning, such as role-playing and cultural experiences, contribute to international students' natural understanding of Korean academic and lifestyle culture and the development of a sense of belonging through interaction with other international students. This study aims to provide important implications of empathy learning for the development of future international student support programs and educational policies.
