청소년의 사회적 위축이 학업 무기력에 미치는 영향: 자아존중감과 우울의 이중매개효과

An Effect of Social Withdrawal of Adolescent’ upon the Academic Helplessness: The Dual Mediating Effect of Self-Esteem and Depression

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 사회적 위축, 자아존중감, 우울 및 학업 무기력 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 청소년의 사회적 위축과 학업 무기력 간의 관계에서 자아존중감과 우울의 이중매개효과를 확인하는 것이다. 본 연구를 위해 2018년 한국 아동⋅청소년 패널조사 1차 년도 데이터 중 중학교 1학년 학생 자료를 활용하였으며, 2,590명의 자료에서 무응답을 한 자료 181부를 제외하고 총 2,409명의 자료를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석하기 위해 SPSS 21.0을 활용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, Pearson의 상관관계분석, SPSS Macro를 이용하여 이중매개효과 분석 및 매개효과 유의성 검증을 위한 부트스트래핑을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학업 무기력에 미치는 변인들의 상대적 영향력은 자아존중감, 우울, 사회적 위축 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 사회적 위축과 학업 무기력 간의 관계에서 자아존중감과 우울은 이중매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

The objective of this research is to observe the relation of adolescents social withdrawal with the self-esteem, depression and academic helplessness, and to confirm the effect of the dual mediating effect of self-esteem and depression in the relation between the adolescents social withdrawal and academic helplessness. For this research, we used the student data of middle school’s 1st grader of the 2018’s Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey, and used for the final analysis the data of 2409 students except 181 data with no answer of 2,509 students’ data. For analyzing the collected data, we executed the bootstrapping with the SPSS 21.0, frequency, the technical statistics analysis, Pearson’s interrelation analysis, and SPSS Macro for analyzing the dual mediating effect and verifying the significance of mediated effect. The main result of this research is as follows. First, the relative effect of variable upon the academic helplessness was appeared to be the self-esteem, depression and social withdrawal in order. Second, the self-esteem and depression had the dual mediating effect upon the relation between the adolescents social withdrawal and academic helplessness. Based on the research result, we discussed the suggestion and limitation of this research and the proposal for the future research.
